We get the same thing here. Many farmsteads that were once part of a thriving rural economy are now brush choked, overgrown properties with barns and homes in disrepair. Everyone complains about it and moans and groans about the good old days. Then the Amish move in, clear the brush, save the barn, fix the fence and renovate the house. They pay their taxes, farm the land, ask for nothing in return and wave when you pass by. Then the same people that were moaning about the good old days being gone start complaining about the Amish and having to dodge a a bit of horse poop in the road.
Some people would complain if they were hung with a new rope.
