i torque the head on these in four steps up to the 115 lbs. then i run them at 900 rpm for one hr. then do the retorque and add 10 percent to the spec. i end up with a final torque of 125-130 lbs. i use permatex high tack sealer as that works good for me on these gaskets, so i have never tryed the copper coat thing. i have done quite a few overhauls and gaskets on these and havn't had any with seepage on them. i also use neverseize or copper coat lube on the threads. dont forget to check the block deck for straightness. i just took a look at a couple old gaskets i replaced and one says felpro on it and is black and the other one is more of silver color and says felpro on it also but it has the ihc logo on it. so i presume felpro is making them for ihc. i do think the retorque after warm up is a necessity on these engines.
