You are talking about the little red tab you have to slide back in order to push the tang to unplug right? If so it really doesnt need to have one, its just a secondary retention device to help prevent the connector from unplugging. Numerous sensors and connectors use these and I find a bunch of them are already gone off the vehicles I work on. If you wanted to do something you could probably loop a zip tie or two through the slot the red tab used to go through.
