Big killer on the 2.7 was the way oil galley was made, had couple sharp bends where it would get restricted. This led to timing chain tensioner not getting enough oil pressure to keep chain tight. Jumped chain , bent valve,bad mess. Oh and of course the wonderful water pump design . They make a timing chain saver that bolts in pretty easy . Keeps tensioner extended even if oil pressure drops . Over all poor designs .7 engines. Much like Ford and their bleeding oil pumps and cam phasers in the 5.4
