I got a Tandy RL 1000 in about 1991 to keep my farm accounting on. The computer and program cost me close to $2000 if I remember right. The accounting program alone that I was running cost me over $600. I had to buy extra memory to run it all and that wasn't cheap at that time. We could get internet then,but it was a long distance call to Lansing to use it. We finally got hooked up locally to the community college,but had gone to a better computer by then.
