here's where I'd start. 1. does it have low compression in one cylinder? (a "lope" when turning over with starter). if not, and no scary noises, 2. start it and find out which cylinder is missing (loosen fuel lines at nozzles to tell). 3. pull the nozzle from the bad cylinder, get it checked. 3. if it is missing on 2 cylinders, especially adjacent ones, i'd look for a blown head gasket.
