As I read the post about shifting trucks with out the clutch, it reminded me of when helping a neighbor put up hay back in '71. He had a 730 and an 830 case he used and told me to take the 730 with the hay racks over to the next field. He had told me earlier that you only could shift gears when at a dead stop. I had been shifting dads Farmalls on the go by the time I was 10. Just rev it up and when you hit top speed clutch it, pull it out of gear and throttle it back and slip it into the higher gear. Didn't see why it wouldnt work on the Case. Only problem was He was watching as I did it. When he caught up with me at the field I was ready for a talking to. Instead he ask how in the world I did it with out grinding the gears! Listen, feel, and practice.
