It does. It took Oct. Nov and Dec to get from 60,s down to 30,s. Three months. It will take Jan , Feb and March (which means first of April) to get back from 30 to 60,s. I think what you are really wondering is how then can it get down to 20 below in Jan or Feb like it did here in MI last winter , if the sun is up longer and getting higher? My answer, Jetstream. How does it get from that 22 below in Feb back to 60,s only 2 mos later in April? There is a "lag period" around Jan when Polar air outpowers the southern heat and doesn't care where the sun is . E/W jetstream decides which one wins out and when and for how long.
