I believe your truck is equipped with the 5.3 engine. What RPM's does your truck idle at in park and while in gear once warm? The 5.3 engines have a history of low idle/rough idle at stop lights (etc.), with the vehicle sometimes dying. Before throwing a lot of money at the truck, pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator to see if its wet. If the inside of the vacuum line is wet or has gas coming out the rubber boot at the end of the vacuum line, the fuel pressure regulator is bad.
Your idle when warm should be around 700-750 RPM. If your idling lower, look at the pressure regulator.
