I think we are talking about simple aftermarket spool valves, WHAT damage would a scrap of teflon tape do to them???????????
I'm gonna go with "Nutty" on this one... "The main reason is due to with Teflon tape if you use to much you can tighten the fittings tight enough to crack the valve body very easy"
