After my dad died my "non-farmer" brother waltzed in a got his part, let the neighbors break it out of CRP,and mess with the sprouts and terraces that needed fixing. Crops were a good price then so he bought an old tractor, combine and truck and learned himself to farm. That was 2 years ago. This coming year will be his third.
