Even though I have a full-time job and play around with some "large-scale gardening", I think I understand just how UNIMPORTANT I really am, so I don't carry my phone all the time. I switched to my first smart phone when the whole family changed carriers last year, as this just made the switch easier. At first, I only had the tempered glass screen protector, but I bent the phone in my back pocket climbing into the hayloft- broke only the screen protector. I added a case, but the belt holster doesn't work for a fat guy like me, either. Usually I just toss the phone in the toolbox or cupholder.
The old couple across the street just told us that their son, a contractor developing a subdivision in former farm land, somehow pinned himself with the loader- broke both ends of his pelvis and crushed his colon requiring surgery. He had his phone and called 911- otherwise working alone in a remote area he may not have gotten help for quite some time...
