The mind remembers sight/pictures perfectly so the best way is to make a mental picture of a particular feature of the person you want to remember and put it with their name. Example would be "Betty"....first thing you noticed about her was her huge "hooters" so you close your eyes and "record" a picture of her wearing a shirt with "Betty B00bs" wrote on it. It will work every time because your mind WILL remember photographic creations you enter into it long before letters/numerals. You will remember landmarks easier than written directions to get somewhere. It will usually be something less than flattering that you use to remember names so DO NOT tell the person how you do it! Must be a VIVID picture!
