That's like what happened here one time. I had told the boy not to head home from college for Christmas until daylight Christmas Eve morning,but he left about 11pm the night before. He called from Ft Wayne Indiana at 1am. The alternator had gone out. The wife and younger son had to take off and head down there to get him. They got a motel,got a rebuilt alternator the next day,changed it and drove on home. I had to milk cows,so there wasn't anything I could do.
