We have a 4 lane state highway in our county. 90+ county mounties on the sheriffs force, a large proportion of which are road deputies. You would be hard pressed to see even one of which drive in the right lane, doing anywhere near the speed limit, with no siren or lights on. It is so common that wife and I call the left lane the "Cop lane". During recent election season, with sheriff on ballot, one candidate visited me and I had the rare opportunity to vent this and several other frustrations I have with county Sheriffs actions(including a deputy pulling his gun on my very friendly dog when he was at my farm asking for information, not an official call!)
