Always used USPS but not anymore. Sent a refurbished vintage kitchen stand mixer to the sister in law in Denver. Wrapped bowls and mixer in heavy towels and packed box full of newspaper. Put fragile stickers on the box. Went from E SD to Des Moines to Denver to Des Moines and back to Denver. Took 10 days and was delivered at 10:30 in the evening by ringing the doorbell and leaving. Bent beaters, busted base of mixer, handle broken off, bowls broken. Had it insured for about 1/2 of its worth, but won't use USPS again.
