My son bought a 4040 JD, cab, working air, good tires. But the cab top needed to be replaced and the bottom repaired. hyd seat, quad range. Used it 5 yrs sold it to a neighbor for $8000. Same price he paid for it. The tractor showed 8800hrs. pushing 10000 now. Motor or trans never opened up. Tractor looks rough, hood bent also hardly any paint. So I would look for a 4040, 4230, 4020. There is a reason they are sought after!
