Heres a good one for ya . Many years back i was a broker with Chem haulers on the dump division side , , pulled into the Gary east terminal one afternoon after dropping a load and walked in and my dispatcher tells me that i just missed a load coming back to my home town of SALEM OHIO just three blocks from the house . Oh well i'll just take my usual load scrap stainless to Pittsburg not a big deal. So out the door i go and go load the scrap and deliver that night and go home . This was on a Thursday . I am at the house Friday morning when Dee the dispatcher calls me She asked me if i would go and check all the truck stops around my area and see if i can find this driver as he had not delivered the load .So i head out and make the rounds Over to Columbiani , North Lima , Austintown , Hubbard , Deerfield , even checked all the wide spots along all the state routes one could pull off on , Nothing could not find him . So i called Dee back around 4 in the afternoon and said i could NOT find him anywhere in a fifty mile radius , so while she had me on the phone she gave me my start for Monday . Tuesday i was back out at the terminal waiting for a load when this DRIVER calls in and want another advance as he is out of fuel and out of money . When she asked him where he was he tells her that he was in some small town in OREGON , She tells him that he was suppose to be IN OHIO not OREGON . HE tells her that his bills read Salem O. and he thought that it meant OREGON .
