I wondered about that, too, for a while, but if you look at a map you will notice something called the Sandusky River. Somewhere about the middle of the state of Ohio, the land breaks, and all waters to the south flow to or toward the Ohio River and all waters north of the break flow toward Lake Erie. Two creeks come together at Upper Sandusky and flow north to Sandusky..... On another note, both the Miami and the Scioto Rivers flow out of Indian Lake. The Miami River flows pretty much directly south toward Dayton, and then Cincinnati. The Scioto River flows north to Kenton, Ohio and then turns south to go through Columbus on the way to Portsmouth on the Ohio River....
