How Internet performs varies from area to area, including satellite and cellular, so you have to ask in your local area. Do you watch any streaming video, like Youtube, Netflix etc.? HD movie can be 4 to 5 GB, standard definition is less. Computer updates, Windows 10 download was about 4GB, update this week was something like 3GB I think (didn't verify, don't use Windows, saw it mentioned elsewhere). Most of the satellite plans start with a 10GB plan for the month, daytime use. Do you use any VOIP product for phone calls? There's a delay with satellite, some things don't work great.
Viasat Exede is the better satellite company/product in general. A WISP could be a good choice if available.
Here's a Verizon option if you are in a 4G area. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/lte-internet-installed/
Town has DSL here but it only works up to 8 miles from town so I can't get it, $50 is the cheapest, plus $35 for the mandatory landline, so anyone that wants internet from town and is in range pays a minimum of $85 for up to 5 meg service (it was 1 meg at the beginning of the year).
I use a regional cell provider, most neighbors have Exede, too far out for cell. Some satellite areas are full, not available for signup.
