I must be the odd man out here because I never get telemarketing calls and as far as I know my wife never gets these calls either.
I do give my cell number out; but only to people that I need to call me. If they need a number for some warranty claim or such; Like the parts place wants a number to reference my claim; I give them a false number we use just for that. Even my credit card holders have a false number. If the need to get in touch with me they can do it by mail as I am not talking business over the phone anyway.
I suspect you guys are giving your number to someone that is selling it.
