Sounds like what happened with my '50 8n. I was bush hogging, step on clutch and tractor kept going....no noises, just my pucker factor went off the scale. I split tractor and found a broke finger. Replaced pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bushing, input shaft seal and resurfaced flywheel and it is as good as new. Reused clutch disc as it looked like new. Not a high tech job, just be careful with supporting the engine from shifting and using good support devices.
