I'm told Jay Dee belts can match belts via the John Deere number. You might try them next time.
As for Deere not supporting the 05 series, that seems to have been coming for some time. I was frustrated a few years ago when trying to find an aftermarket chaffer for our 105. It seemed as if some of the suppliers had been 'bought off' by Deere to stop offering support... the same company that not many years before bent over backwards to make we a new concave for the same combine.
Realistically though, the newest 05s were built in 1969. 46 years ago. It's been coming. The writing should have been on the wall a few years ago when Deere was advertising they still had parts for them.
