I have an Onan power plant that I would hate to be without. It is a four cylinder diesel 19kw so it is a pee wee compared to yours! Winter time means many outages here, so I just keep the heater plugged in all winter so she is ready. It is nice not to worry about frozen stock tanks and such when the power goes. With one as old as mine and yours it isn't automatic to get it online, but I don't mind going out and throwing the switches and cranking it up. It only has 900 hours on it - it will outlast me.
