I don't know that I'd be too worried about engine oil, but I won't hook a trailer to anything that doesn't have a separate cooler in front of the radiator.
With one exception. My good pickup is a Tundra. It has a thermostatically controlled cooler in front of the radiator. It also has a fluid heater in the transmission. If a cooler was added that did not have a temperature bypass the transmission would fight to heat itself when not towing a load. Kind of like opening the windows with the furnace on. I guess the point is - check your transmission.
