In a 48-60 inch, even 72 inch, a zero turn mow twice as fast as a traditional lawn mower or say a Cub with a belly mower.

Downside, they are the most expensive of the bunch and most are good for one thing, mowing.

With a small garden tractor you can put a front blade on it or other attachments. You can do the same with some of the zero turns like an F series Deere, but your price just went even higher. I have a 32hp 72inch zero turn. It mows like nothing else, but that is all it will do. I mow close to 10 acres a week, plus acres of tree rows.

2 acres or less = lawn tractor, maybe a used commerical zero turn
5 acres + = zero turn
