This is it, worked before but after sitting for a while seems to not want to charge. hooked up hte multimeter and got nothing.
OK, so you are not re-wiring , just using a jumper to polarize the generator. The lower terminal is Armature & a little cleaning will reveal a stamped "A" at that terminal & to polarize connect your jumper from the un-grounded battery terminal to "A". P.S. The Field "F" does not connect to battery, but rather to the regulator "F" terminal.
