I went to a class on federal grants years ago. You have to jump through a lot of hoops. Our local show was looking at the possibility of getting a grant for restoring the farm house on the grounds and I was a director at that time and the finger was pointed at another director and me to investigate a grant. The money needed to be used within a certain time. Wooden siding couldn't be scraped with a scraper or wire brush, a soft brush was to be used, and on and on the list went. If I remember right the house would have needed to be registered as a historic site. We threw up our hands at the idea.
