Your going to ruin that tractor completely running it without fixing the problem. You have a leak in the high or low clutch pack circuit. That is why the PTO quits working. The high pressure oil is leaking out through the Dual Power. So you then do not have enough to keep the PTO clutch pack engaged. This is why the PTO will kind of work when you hold the Dual power between high and low. Running it like this will ruin the Dual power clutch packs as well as the PTO pack. With this low pressure problem none of them are engaging correctly. So they are going to slip and burn up.
Find out where to check the Dual power clutch pack pressure and what reading you should have. You should also be able to check the PTO clutch pack pressure as well.
I know very little about FORD large row crop tractors but I DO understand how they work. The Dual power and the PTO are one system on those tractors so a leak in any of the clutch packs makes all of them not work correctly.
