01gentdc Carter was more than likely one of the most honest president we have ever had but he was totally over his head as president. HE demoralized the military and set the stage for the Iran hostage deal by being a weak leader. HE got credit for the Israeli/Egypt peace accord when it was Israel kicking Egypt's butt that brought them to the bargaining table. Then his domestic policy was just as na�ve as well. Rather than expanding our oil supply he imposed a 55 MPH speed limit as his solution to oil prices. So he was a terrible president but a good person. He is getting really flaky in his old age now.

Today's Featured Article - Show Coverage: Argyle and Mt. Pleasant Labor Day Weekend Shows - by Cindy Ladage. The last fling before summer fades into fall and we get busy in the fields are the annual Labor Day tractor shows. Beginning on September 5th and running through the 7th, the Argyle Antique Gas and Engine Show is held at the Argyle State Park. Located in West Central Illinois, the pine forest was the setting for the opening of the 22nd show.
