The one cheater is a county department head. HIS employer is the county and his boss is the Commissioner board. The trouble is even with county money investigating the actions HIS personal information is NOT public record. That is why the findings and I bet the entire thing was done in "executive session".
Goose even stated this; "This attorney conclusion was announced to the other Commissioners in executive session and concluded that there was no harm done to the county". This fact sure sounds to me that they where discussing employee issues.
To those that say it is the Taxpayer's business. Well it is and it is not. What I mean by that is certain employee information is NOT public information. The elected commissioner has fewer protections. So she is more open game. I also bet that the department head is under UNION contract as well. So he will have contract protection and Federal employment laws about his private information be made public.
I am getting jumped on in this post but I bet that few of the people here have ever been on a board and had the legal issues explained by people that actually deal in this type of stuff on a regular basis.
This has little to do with the fact that there was an affair. I HATE CHEATERS!!!!! MY Father cheated on my Mother and I am very against cheaters. This is about Goose wanting to scream on the roof tops that HE knows of an affair. An affair he learned about in executive session during HIS elected DUTY. His screaming on the roof tops very well could cost the county BIG time but lets not let the facts cloud the emotion here. There are things that are protected about employee's records. The department head is a county employee. He has FEDERAL employment laws PROTECTING HIM!!!
The commissioner is on thin ice. She should resign ASAP. Even with the hire lawyer saying there was not any county assets used during the affair the county could still easily be on the hook for large damages if the department head wants to push it.
What I could see happening with Goose screaming his head off about an affair is this. The FEMALE commissioner resigns and they both would have trouble in their marriages. Maybe they both get divorced. Then the real games begin. The department head SUES the county for their actions dealing with his person employment records and their discipline actions. HE can also claim he was coerced by his BOSS i.e. the female commissioner. So Goose's term in office would have got little done other than an affair exposed and cost the county time/money defending itself.
Here is another thing to think about. A large majority of people will NOT be in favor of doing anything about or to the cheaters. Their are too many with the very same skeleton in their closet.
Also Goose's "Hypothetical situation" is not fooling anyone.
