That's why some cops hate dash cams. When they pull someone over they have to have probable cause. Dash cam doesn't lie and can derail a DUI or other alleged traffic violation real fast. Sometimes they can even get a cop in trouble. Kid, class mate of my wife's when she went back to school, going to a community college here got pulled over at 2AM. Cop got real angry and yelled and screamed at the kid for 10 minutes. Reason the cop was mad is the kid was sober. Cop figured that a college kid driving at 2AM had to have been leaving a party. Kid's dad is some big time lawyer in the twin cities. He came up, sat down with the chief and watched the video from the cops cam. No reason to even pull the kid over. He had done nothing to give probable cause. The cop was reprimanded and had to attend retraining and anger management out of his own pocket.
