I used to ski with an older gentleman, I think he was 79 at the time, and we would make the 1 1/2 hour drive together with him telling all the history of the area along the way, great stories. He skied until he was about 90 and stopped only because his eyesight was failing, I kept in touch until he moved across the country where family could help in his old age. The last I knew about a year ago he was still alive and he would be about 105 now. Every spring our local little paper posts something about him for his birthday. He is in a home now and still wishes to hear from old friends on the east coast. And yes, we have sent him letters.
