This discussion comes up over on the CaseIH forum on occasion. According to some on the CaseIH forum there were indeed orange Cs produced, check places that would be difficult to get to to spray on a repaint and look or scrape a little to see if you can find a layer of gray, I would not be surprised to find it's original. There are some over there that really know the old stuff well.
