Flex is Taurus based (so is the Explorer by the way)
Edge is Fusion based <-- i don't get the Edge market. Not all that big and is a gas guzzler (at least the older ones were)
Escape is now Focus based but there are alot of versions of that platform.
We thought about a Flex to replace the mini-van... bought a Cherokee instead (good deal) but its not anywhere close to being as useful space wise.. but the flex doesn't get 32mpg (no trailer) and still handle a 4000lbs trailer (not a typeo that's what they are rated for with factory towing).
