Does your friend have household pets ? If so treat the pets with "Program" or other equivalent flea control. Program works..a few drops on the back of the neck and the pet becomes the flea trap. Fleas land on the pet, bite the skin and die. Eventually the treated pet will kill all fleas in the house. We had two cats,just treated one and it tok care of all the fleas. Vacuuming the carpet only works if you remove the vacuum bag outside to the garbage pail , you can't leave it with the flea eggs in the house. Orkin should be able to do a good job , however my experience was using the pet to be the flea control and within a week or so we had no more fleas in the house or on the cats.
