: I have a MF 85 tractor. Twice now I've had problems with pto shaft snap ring which holds shaft and bearing in place has come completly out of housing.Wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem . If so is there a better solution than the manfactures orignal design I would ask, what are you running with the PTO? Sometimes if a brushog is operated on the PTO, the two halves of the of the cutter's shafts are not greased enough or the shafts are worn to the point that where they don't slip in and out of each other easily enough. This puts a lot of stress on the tractors shaft and somtimes something has to give like the snap ring that you mentioned. GEO
