Never in too big of a hurry to fix the well problem. House didn't have a well untill 1988. House was built in 1912. If the pump quits I just revert to the old plumbing from the spring. Have pipes running from the spring into the basement. Pipes are now being used to provide air conditioning. Spring water runs through a coil placed inside a old furnace carcass with the fan still operable. Spring water is at 54 degrees so the air coming out of the registers is about the same. Temps the last few days have been in the high eighties or nineties and the house stays at a comfortable 68 degrees.
Always able to flush the John even when the power is off. Just fill the tank with cheap (not those little bottles that sell for a dollar or mere) spring water and flush. Don't even have to use the old two holler. Nice and warm in the winter.
