it could work , but why would you do this as normal practice , I too have restarted a tractor on the hammer mill when the motor stalled when I idled back and punched the clutch , simply dumped the clutch on the coasting hammermill and it was running again ,, also have started a vac case on the belt pully and jd model l ,,, no big deal ,, most fun is starting uncle hanks jd h on the flywheel ,, using the decompresser valve ,,. most of the jd back in the day were started like that ,.
