My insurance lady sent me a birthday card last week. It named some things that happened in 1941, and various toys (Slinky, View Master), foods (Cheerios), medicines (penicillin) and etc. that were introduced that year.
It then informed me that in the ensuing period since that August day in 1941 I have drawn 583.4 million breaths; my heart has made 2.72 billion beats; I have blinked 459.2 million times, and I have drunk 1,628 gallons of milk. I really didn't keep count of the breaths, heartbeats or blinks, so I'll just go along with what was reported. As to the milk---they obviously don't know me: I grew up on a dairy farm and I'd drunk 1,600 gallons by the time I was 15. And considering that I still drink two to three gallons a week, I'm way ahead of the curve on that one.
