Depends on the plow some- I learned with pull types and the first strike was simple drop it with the side adjust lever in a down position for the furrow wheel, then level plow for next rounds. Later semi mounted plows or fast hitch was a bit of minor adjusting, eyeball result of first 10 foot or so and adjust whatever. Then the quick way was just plow as is from previous days and come back with a half furrow overlap that give a raised center with uncovered trash to knock down with overlapped disk. Now it is just get sister's big green thing-JD8000 something- with the big disk blades and a couple rows of pointy S springs to stir the dirt. RN.
