Can you ask him about the seed for the sunflowers please? Went to a "pumpkin patch" last fall, they had a field of sunflower with large blooms/seed heads like those in the picture. Bought a couple three, dried/kept them over winter and planted this past spring. Got near 100% germination and most all of them made strong plants that bloomed, was a hit with family and friends at church (all the women folk are extra happy when somebody volunteers the flowers) but the flowers were mostly normal size. I wanted the huge heads found on the plants the seed came from. Maybe I lost some hybrid vigor or something. I asked at the best seed house around here but they just looked at me funny and pointed to the more ornamental like plant seed.
Would appreciate your time if the man could share his seed source.
