I wore the expensive Red Wings for many years until I had a toe hurting and turning black. It turned out that my feet were getting wider in my old age. I got some Keens because they tend to be wider. I am on my third pair, though so far I have paid for just one, because the stitching in the back has failed. I found that I need to leave the top open in order to prevent it.
