Some of the co called child behavior experts claim there is no such thing as a 'sugar high' in children. If I interpret what is in this link right, there certainly can be a sugar high.
On a related note, I'm not a heavy soda drinker but I do crave one about once a day in the summer. I had to quit drinking regular soda because I found out the high fructose corn syrup was kicking up my irritable bowel syndrome so I started in on diet soda. Then soda started coming out with pure sugar instead of fructose. I tried one and it kicked up the IBS again. After a little investigation I found out regular sugar contains fructose, only not as concentrated. Then I hear about all of the horrors contained in artificial sweeteners. (sigh). I just finished off a diet cherry Pepsi as I was typing this. In the morning I will load up on caffeine.
