I was talking with mom and lamenting how bad the flies are. The batch of hogs set to farrow in the next couple of weeks are just raw on their ears. I spray them with fly spray, but it itches to they rub on everything and just rub it off. Mom reminded me that we used to use axle grease on fly wounds. Did that do any good? I'm tempted to bring out the wheel bearing grease and give them each a smear with a paint stirring stick. It should have better holding power in a mud hole. Years ago I used scarlet oil but Orcheln stopping stocking it.
