Well tonight I was able to get the coupler off the valve block to look it over. I was able to remove part of the outer shell by unscrewing it. I could then get at the balls and a spring back inside of there. Was a little rust. Cleaned it up and lubed it and compressed it in the vise a few times and put it back together and it worked !!!! So I then did the other one it really wasn't dirty or rusty ? but it freed up and started working too.
