I was in a squadron in the Marine Corps once that had status boards for everything, all covered with little red and green tags.
I voiced the opinion once that they must have status boards to track the status of the status boards. My OIC didn't think it was funny. I'll give him credit, though. He did have an engraved plaque on the wall behind his desk that said, "Illegitimus Non Carborundum". It loosely translates to "Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down".
