I'm not going to try it. KDKA said maybe Friday night rain, but accuweather on my phone says 2-3pm Friday. We got rain this morning in Northern Washington County. It wasn't much, but it put water in the rain gauge.
My wheat sprouted in the heads. My oats lodged and foxtail and ragweed came up - oats rotted on the ground and/or head sprouted. My timothy hay is rotted standing, it's pretty much just straw now. Corn that was planted on time is 7 foot high and dark green. Corn that was planted after May 23rd is shoulder high to head high where the ground is not flooded. Where it is flooded, it is knee high, but only because I sink half way to my knees in the mud and standing water. My soybean yields will be worse than if I had planted them in July because the foxtail and ragweed is choking them out. I can't get out to spray yet. Maybe tomorrow I can try, but I am not holding my breath. I hate to get stuck.
Cousins tried to combine their wheat last Saturday and they buried the IH 82 pull type and 5610 tractor. If it can stick a little combine like that, I probably would have completely lost my 6620 titan II if I tried doing my wheat last Saturday.
I'm going to run the brush hog over a lot of lost crops this year. It will give me some time to put in tile lines in those fields late this summer.

In my younger days, mom, dad and my brother made frequent visits to dad's youngest brother Pete, who took over the home farm from grandpa MIke. It was the typical set-up, milk cows, pigs & chickens. In the winter, we'd play
