Lots of posts about how the hay is not drying and getting stuck in fields. Yesterday was one of the Gettysburg reenactment days and I go in full southern worker out fit. Common folk dress was many of the Rebs had. Wear what ya got. I drove right up to the farm where they have the big meeting and all of the camps and such. I couldn't beleave this sign! They canceled Gettysburg! Many reinactors showed and had driven long distances and didn't get the cancel note. I am only 3 1/2 hours away not like 15 hours from Iowa. Fields there were in second cutting and soaking wet. Walked around in town and talked to a lot of folks and bought a couple of things. In the regimental shop and the suttlers shops ETC. guess what item was sold out. Both places had stocked in 12 dozen, that is 144 Reb battle flags. They were all sold out in 1 1/2 days. Makes you want to laugh. I really enjoy going and two years ago I was a powder passer on one of the southern gun crews. LOVE the smell of black powder.
