This picture was taken the day after father's Day, but the little one was hatched on Father's Day, so maybe it still counts. I have nest boxes up for Saw Whet Owls out at the farm (Alberta).
Just got to check one today and there was 1 baby and 5 eggs still to hatch. The fellow that bands the little owls says he will be doing so around mid July.
The remainder of the eggs should be hatching every day until all of the chicks are there. Six babies are quite average for these little guys.
There were 3 mice in the box, so the male must be a good hunter.
